TIGER, TIGER

My niece wanted a tiger on a jacket, to replace one stolen in a mosh pit....see, I know the words~!

With many photos between us - Georgia is now the proud owner of this quiet little number.

With the exception of the finer bamboo design, all elements where stitched on to organza and then appliqued into place.

The pieces where laid out and then I marked the jacket back with children's chalk.  This gave me an idea of where to stitch the bamboo, directly on to the back.

MAGIC AQC CHALLENGE 2019

You may have seen this quilt on display as part of the AQC Challenge for 2019 - theme - Magic.

I went immediately to Black Magic!

Lots of techniques on this one - machine embroidery applique, digitizing, paint, free motion work, making use of my machines many fancy stitches, making mojo dolls from yarn and pipe cleaners, glitter in jars......

GOLDFISH BAGS

These two bags were created for Botanical Bag Challenge, held by Chandler's cottage.   It is becoming apparent I have a thing for fish!

The backgrounds for both were constructed from torn strips of assorted hand dyed fabrics.  Bits of Angelina Fibre and snips of crystal organza were then positioned and stitched roughly.
A layer of blue spider web type tulle was the first overlay.
