SKULL AND LAVENDER BAG

Trying to use up test samples from long ago, I came across a lavender piece and chucked it in the hoop and then added sequins, organza, fancy threads and yarns then placed a piece of tulle and stitched.   I didnt mind it, but it looked like a skull, so I found a skull on Urban Threads and stitched over the lavender on cream.   Still couldnt decide what to do with it, so added some more lavender and a few butterflies in gold.     Next I twisted some of the threads I used in the base to make a cord for around the top.   So here we are.....skully business on one side, calm lavender and a butterfly on the back!

The handles have a bit of embroidery detail.

...and the pockets also have the same detail.

BUCKET BAG

So this one is made with the leftover hand dyed fabric from the Project Book and then a piece of flower fabric from an Alice in Wonderland quilt I made a long time ago.   The lining is hand painted, using stencils and a hairdressers tint brush.     I swear I sewed this thing three times over - that is the result of not using a pattern - because - why follow instructions!

PROJECT BOOK/FOLDER

I've been making lots of panels using thread, sequins, fabric and tulle.   A wonderful way to use up bits that you cant bear to throw away but are technically useless!  I have also now added fancy yarns to the mix, so you can get quite creative, and the machine sews through loose sequins without a backward glance.  As I finish one piece, the shrapnel from that is used in the next piece.    I'm not sure my stash is going down by much though!
Found a nice hand dyed fabric for the lining and pockets and embroidered some 3D fringe flowers.

I need to finish the zipper pull and trim.
